COT and timeline

Published

Hi everyone! So my packet will go before the AF board for the Sept. 23rd deadline. I've been told it's usually somewhere in November when we find out if we are selected or not. Being hopeful that I get a select, can anyone tell me a realistic timeframe of when I could expect to leave for COT after being selected? I also really wanted to get stationed at Ramstein, Germany ( I'm 46N3E) or anywhere overseas; what is the reality about if that's a realistic hope right out of the commission gate? Thanks in advance!

I'm so anxious. But also trying to not get my hopes up. Waiting is just the hardest though

I'm with you guys! The wait will all be worth it though! Hoping to see good news for all of us!!

Is anyone prior service on here?

Prior service here :)

Awesome, what were you? I was security forces.

I was a mechanic in the marine corps

Just FYI, I recently found out that the current COT class is going to be the last 5-week one that they do. Beginning with the one in January, it's going to be 8-weeks, in line with the other TFOT officer training programs that run at Maxwell.

Darn. We will have just missed it. What is the purpose? Less intense?

ORNURSE87, I saw you had applied before. Do you remember how long it took to hear results?

Euro, are you applying this board? Did your recruiter tell you about the extension for COt?

Jessica73 when I applied it took 2 months from the time the board met, we were unusually delayed for whatever reason. I hear results for this board should be in by the 23rd but most are saying it will be likely they will be in the first of November. They are also changing COT to 8 weeks

Good grief, I hope it doesn't take 2 months. I actually read they were going to be making some changes about 2 weeks ago. I guess this is one of those changes lol. I'm hoping because this is the first board for 2019 that they will release the results sooner.
