I am trying to decide between the TWU RN-BSN online program or the UT Arlington which now has an online RN to BSN. Arlington gave me a cost of $5000. I can't get a straight answer from TWU and their Bursur fee grid is confusing because they said costs of online courses can be $100 to $300 more per class... just depends. Does anyone know from personal experience about how much it costs and whether or not you liked the program? Thanks!

I started at TWU in Spring 09 in the RN-BSN program I paid like 1500 the first semester for 2 classes and books. The credit is $158 per credit hour but they add all these extra fees, like the gym, student services, computer service etc. I like it so far and hope to get an A and B this semester. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply. Two classes, is this considered going full or part-time? When will you complete the program? Good luck! :)
I am going part time. U can take as many as 4 classes a semester going full time and graduate in 3 semesters. I graduate May 10, so that's 4 semesters. Thanks for the luck!!

Maybe y'all can help me :)
I'm in an RN program right now, and after graduating I'm hoping to do the rn bsn or rn msn program at TWU. I've been looking everywhere online trying to get information on how competitive it is to get into these programs! How many spots are available and how many do they accepts? And what were y'alls GPA's and test scores like?
Thanks in advance!!!
You know what I just applied and got accepted. There was no test to take to get in the RN-BSN program. It's not like regular nursing school there are no set number of spots. I think you have to have at least a 2.5 GPA with all your prerequisites for the RN-BSN and a 3.0 GPA for the RN-MSN. But it is way more simpler than actual nursing school. All the courses are online for the most part. You can take Patho, Management in a class setting if you want. But it is pretty good. I graduate this May 2010.
Wow thanks so much, I thought I was going to have to go through the whole applying to nursing school nightmare again! So that is so good to hear. I'm either going to utmb or twu, but I really want to do neonatal so I think it's going to end up being utmb since twu doesn't have a neonatal NP program. Congrats on graduation though! :) it's gonna feel so good!!!
Good luck in finishing nursing school and the continuation of your education.

Does anyone know how much books run for the 1st semester at TWU? I know the tuition rates but I was told from a fellow nursing student that attended UT that books ran 1,500.00. Ouch!!!

I would go with UT Arlington. The fact that TWU can't give you a straight answer is a big indicator of how completely messed up their RN-BS program is.
I had high hopes for it as well; I am in the last week of my last semester with them, and I honestly wish I had gone somewhere else.
Their program says "100% online" but what they DON'T tell you is that during your last two nursing classes you will be in clinical. I can't remember what the hour requirement was for one of the classes, but the very last class requires you to do clinicals for 90 hours!!!! Let's just say that I nearly had a nervous breakdown this semester when it came to working my full time mon-fri job and then doing clinicals on the weekend.
I truly wish I had gone somewhere else....

What is considered "clinical"? Do you get to choose where to go for clinicals? Thanks!
