Thank you both for your replies. This at least gives me a ball park figure so I know how much to budget.
Peeps Mcarthur -- I noticed you live in MD. I also live there -- Balto. Co. area. What school do you go to? I'm planning on attending Essex Community College. That is where I received my paramedic certification from. I really like the school and the teachers! Just thought I'd say hello to a fellow Marylander.

A combination of used and new prices from Amazon.com (way cheaper in some cases than the college store here, $372 so far for first semester, not including the syllabus which we are required to buy, and 3 other books that I'm not going to buy. That's only the REQUIRED list! Also, it cost $15 per shirt for uniforms and the vest is $40. $14 for ID cards and School Patches for our vests. $15 for malpractice insurance. $30 annual dues for the student nursing association. $30 parking (plus we have to pay for parking at the clinical sites). You are smart to think ahead about financing your education - books are no small expense as you've already seen from the other posts! (Oh, and this is a jr. college in CA.)
Best of luck,

Hello. I'm hoping some of the students on this board could help me out. I'm trying to figure out a ruff estimate of what it would cost me to go back to college to get my RN. I have already figured out what my tuition would be, but I have not been able to find any inforamtion on the average cost of books. Could some people here post an estimated cost of what they have paid for books while in the RN program? I realize this will very with state to state and program to program, but I'm just looking for an estimate. I would be attending a communtiy college and graduate with an associate of science degree. Thanks for any help you can give me!
