I was going to take Kaplan but can't really afford it now, so I've been concentrating on Saunders and my NCLEX 4000. Is there a precentage I be striving for to know I'm ready?

Don't get too caught up in the scores. What is important is whether or not you understand the concepts behind each question. Are you getting more and more familiar with the material the more you study, or is it still Greek to you? I would use my own judgement in this manner and take the test when you feel that you are ready. Good luck.

Caliotter is exactly right. I just passed it on my 3rd attempt. I really think if I had taken a Kaplan before I would have passed it. But its not important to take Kaplan, what is important to do a lot of parctice and do a lot of questions. I did all my qbank and QT questions. My scores were all below 60% but I did all the questions and tried to understand the retionales behind the right answer. Parctice Practice and Practice. Good luck.
That's good to hear. I've been killing myself with doing questions and studying and have my scores into the mid 70s. I'm just in a panic since I'm taking it the 23rd. Ugh, I can't wait until it's DONE!
