I have seen several threads asking about CCA, working for them, etc. This article mentions them specifically, and just thought it was an interesting article to share. Not offering any opinions...just the article. :)

I don't have any beef with detaining illegal immigrants until they're deported, but I know that my state contracted with one of the private prison businesses (I don't recall which one, specifically, and wouldn't mention the name here if I did) to run some of the state prisons several years ago (with the plan of eventually privatizing all the state prisons if it worked out). The original contract was for something like four years, but, after a year or so, the state found that the conditions in the prisons managed by the private corporation were so appalling, and the care so substandard, that it broke the contract and went back to running all the prisons itself. No one has discussed privatizing the prisons here since then ...

Yes, and it's worth noting that the 3 convicted murderers who escaped from an AZ prison this weekend escaped from a privatized prison.
