California State Prison background check processing time

Hello. I recently accepted an offer for a registered nurse, correctional facility position at a Central California State Prison. At this point I am only waiting on the live scan fingerprinting/background check to be processed (it has been about 3 weeks so far). Could someone with work experience at a California state prison tell me how long it actually took to process the live scan portion of your new-hire paperwork? Thank you!

I am in the same situation as you. I just hit my 3 week mark today waiting on livescan. I was wondering if you have already started?

Yes, I have started. It took exactly 4 weeks from when I was fingerprinted in the delegated testing office until I received the livescan results (via phone call), and my first day of work/orientation at the prison was 12 days after that. It's possible that my timeline may have been a little different than typical because I was waiting for my results during the holiday season (Thanksgiving). I also called my personnel specialist (the person who emailed me the job offer) and asked her about the livescan results because I really wanted the job and wanted to stay vigilant; if you want to do so, I'm sure you could also call your personnel specialist and ask the same. Hi! So I ended up hearing back and my fingerprints cleared at exactly 4 weeks as well! I had my fingerprints done around Christmas so that might've been the reason for the delay too. I was getting kind of anxious. My first day is next week. I'm also in Central California. How are you liking it so far? And Congratulations!
