Contraceptives and Weight Gain

I am currently training to compete in a bodybuilding show, have been lifting for six years, but have only been on the "Patch" for 3 mos. My question/problem is I think I have been retaining some extra fluid from this. I have gained 5 #s but originally contributed it to my training....however, now I am thinking it is WATER. I don't know if it is all psychological because I know the effects of estrogen on the female body, but I am really feeling puffy. I work out strenuously, eat right religously, and do not drink alcohol. What's with my puffy tummy?? Anyone else have a "Patch" horror story? I think I need to get off it, but don't know what other B.C. pill to choose? Suggestions? Yah, I know there are other B.C. options, but this one is really convienient for me.

Sorry for the bad typing, been craming for a NUR 1201 final.

I thought birth control was a total b*tch when I was in my twenties. Used the pill & condoms and hated them-- gained weight, didn't like the latex smell, blah, blah, blah. Now that I am in my thirties with someone who is almost 50 (and on ADHD meds), I got bigger fish to fry...

ED

Argh! And Viagra costs $10 a pill!!!!!

Oddly enough my love life is better now than then.

While a hard man is good to find... an eager & hard working man is better.

Btw... we never had this conversation. My SO would KILL me if he knew that I blabbed this to you guys.

Thank you for sharing Caroline, and I totally agree with the hardworking and eager part of your post...I hate laziness in ALL aspects of my life and it is totally unacceptable in the bedroom. And it is very refreshing when a man is concerned with pleasing me, not himself, which then brings him pleasure. I thin this characteristic isn't developed in a man untill his late 40's or early 50's...just my experience....and yes, we NEVER had this talk ;)

Friday is my day to remove my "Patch" and for my period to begin. I am not ready to have another baby yet. I have three girls ages: 6,3,and 2 years. Permanent measures are not an option for us, I think we both want at least one more maybe two more babies....I think.

Friday I will peel it off and that's it. I am tired of not feeling like myself. Any suggestions on condoms girlies (oh yah, and a guys point of view is helpful too)? Do they all smell like tires?
