Continuing nursing career

Published

I'd like to ask everyone re my case. I have passed nclex last 2011 from California Board of nursing then i endorsed my license to new York in order to keep my certificate and due to expires in 2016. Now iam qualified as well with my English exam (ielts speaking 7, band score.6.5) do you think, shall i start the visa screening?( i have all the required documents with me for the visa screening). However, I am inactive nurse for 3 years and now just started to do practice nursing here in the UK, still I prefer to be a nurse in the US.

Do you think it is still advisable to do the visa screening and how long will it take? AND If iam fortunate to pass the visa screening, what is the next stop to be done? Im looking forward for your responses. Many thanks

Better to wait until you have a PD that is coming up as visa screen cert only valid for 5 years. If you haven;t found a employer then that is really your next step as you don't get on the ladder without one

Thank you for your reply. Sorry, PD stands for what?

Priority date. This is what you get once you have a employer for the US and they file your immigrant application and the PD is confirmation of your I-140 that has been filed (application)

So it would be best to look for employers first. Do you know any recruitment agencies?

One more thing, my license is now in new York so does it mean it cannot be used in California anymore?

I do not know of any recruitment agencies that are taking on IEN but you could do a search.

Yes I would get a employer sorted before applying for VSC.

You can have as many US licenses as you can maintain by meeting requirements and paying fees. However if you do not have a CA license because of no US SSN then you need to sort that out before you can work in the state and for that once in the US and a US SSN is issued you submit that to CA BRN and see what else they require

Thanks for your help. Merry Christmas.
