Hi I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the agency "continental travel nurse"? I recently applied to them and received a call back and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this agency? Good or bad?
Thanks
I wouldn't blame Continental Travel for all the delays and changes, that is entirely on the NMC, continental has no choice but to go along with all these changes as they are the legal requirement, and it's is the NMC that keeps delaying things. My wife is in the same boat, having begun the NMC registration process over a year ago and we are still waiting. I'm not saying Continental isn't unorganized and hard to communicate with, they are, but these changes are beyond their control. We've made an effort not to rely on them for our info but to check regularly with the NMC, both on the application status, and their policy changes. As it stands they are our best bet for a shot at getting to the UK, but we are going for an adventure and with our eyes wide open, definitively not for the pay!
I went with Travel Continental because a girl I worked with was with the the entire time she was living in London. Because they do 3 month placements, you're not tossed around different hospitals (in case that's not your thing!). I haven't started working yet, just started the ONP course yesterday, but Travel Continental have been really efficient in helping setting me up. I went by their office the other week, which seems like a busy, noisy place :)if you contact them, they'll send you a massive email with all the details.
The 250-300 (3000 pounds per year) allowance for living is true, in case you don't want to live in a shared accommodation with 2-3 other nurses! Other financial details as of last year (not sure if anything has changed...) - travel allowance of 175 pounds per 13 week contract = 700 pounds per year; they'll reimburse your RCN at 193; holiday pay (with 4 13 week contracts = 2430 pounds...)
Hi, I'm also looking to working with CTN, but there aren't a lot of reviews online. I noticed that your post is way back 2012, so I would assume you're already working with them as a Registered nurse? I would really greatly appreciate it if you could message me, as I can't send a private message as of yet, but I really want to learn more about the company from someone who's currently working with them. Thanks. :)
Hi sarena33, I was just wondering if you are still currently with continental travel nurse? I would just like to know how is it going? I have been in touch with them for a month now and I'm waiting for my NMC pack.I would appreciate your comment about this.
Thank you.
Hi nurse_piglet .. I'm currently working with CTN as well, I sent in my first pack about a week ago, and I would love to be able to talk to you while we're both ongoing the process--I just have so many questions and I'm not sure if I'm getting too ahead of myself! If all goes well, when do you plan on making the move? Are you from the States?
Hi there. I have been working with CTN as well. I just mailed my first pack to the NMC today. I have been reading all the comments in this thread and i have a growing concern about the accommodations and the ONP. Can anyone tell me whether they have paid for this program or if it was shouldered by CTN? How about the housing? We were made to understand during the orientation that we will be entitlted to the subsidized house while undergoing the supervised training and that we will also be given allowances. Any info on this one will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Why are they treating you as a student nurse? what degree level do you have if you dont mind me asking, as I know overseas many countries want at least a BSN.
