Hi! I'm also considering relocating to the Texas area from Arkansas. Does anyone know about the best places to work as a new grad!?

New grad work is hard to come by here and is extremely competitive. Major metroplex area hospitals only hire new grads via internships, which are hard to get. New grads are best recieved in rural areas, border towns and non-hospital positions. There is still new grad hiring being done in hospitals, but the internships are awash with applicants from all the local new grads. We have more than 20 schools here cranking out new grads every few months.

RN2B is right. The bigger cities have literally thousands of applicants. That's not to say you can't get hired. I don't think employers care where you're from, just that you'll fit well into their team.
One thing I've noticed, too, is that the outlying areas pay better, probably because many folks find driving far for work a huge negative. However, they still get tons of applicants, so don't think you'll be a shoo-in.
Good luck!
