Hi I do PDN but for adult patients. Most patients are long term clients. I had two for over ten years. Some are temporary like post hospital. They can be private pay. Most of my patients are paid by a Medicaid waiver program. They get X amount of nursing hours a day and family takes care of them the rest.
I am pretty busy even on the night shift. Patients have tube feeds, medications, baths, treatments etc. Day shift has a lot of Dr appts.
Charting is on a program on our phone now. I chart as I go. The MAR is on there too. No more paper. We clock out at the exact time and charting mut be done before we can sign out.
Hope this helps

I'm an RN who has been doing Hospice and Home Health since 2011. All that time in the car has me recovering from a frozen hip, so looking to cut down on the driving. I do not have peds experience. Any advice, recommendations, suggestions? What is the charting like? Is it mostly private pay? Medicaid? VA? Pay? Can I stay busy? Is it mostly long term patients? TIA
