I am graduating this May and after a few years of nursing experience, I hope to continue my education. I have always had an interest in geriatrics and I am considering getting my NP in the field. Will this be beneficial to me? What other kinds of careers are available to me besides working in a doctor's office with my NP?

All the docs who come to my facility have NPs working with them. The NPs come to see the patients on a regular basis.

If you consider this position, don't get a geriatric NP lic. Get a family nurse lic. because in the nursing homes the patients are not all above 50 years of age.
