Hello,
First thing is to realize that as a Nurse you will be coming in as an officer and not an enlisted and that it is very wise to make certain that you do not get sidetracked into "enlisting" with a recruiter but that you make certain that you seek advice from a Health Care/Nursing recruiter.
Good luck!
Possibly ROTC is a thought?

edit to add: Oh, and there is much converstation about new Military nurses in the "Military/VA nursing" forum threads here

Thanks for the suggestion. I am currently looking into finding a health care recuriter to speak with. Any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks

My son is a medic in the Air Force (enlisted).
Since you have a college degree, you might be able to go in as an officer, or get nursing school paid for, but then, of course, you would have to sell your soul to the AF.
Just remember, the recruiters will want you to sign on the dotted line NOW.
I would suggest you get your BSN and join as an officer.

Good Morning,
I am interested in a career change and was considering the Air Force. I've wanted to be an Air Force since beginning college 5 years ago. I graduate in December 2007 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and will be starting nursing school in january. I wanted to know the best way to enlist in the military. Some of the Air Forces I know say that I should wait until after I have my nursing degree before I should enlist; however, others say that I should enlist as soon as I am accepted. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
