hi everyone,
Does anyone know a new update of modern medical treatment for curing an early detection of a male infant with Congenital Hypothyroidism.
Is it true that patient will take thryoid supplements for a life time ?
Thanks

There is no cure for congenital hypothyroidism that I have ever heard of. Is this for your NCLEX prep? I really think you are overthinking and getting nit-picky unnecessarily if you are...questions are not massively indepth as this is not typical entry to practice information. Per Medscape "only levothyroxine is recommended for treatment (of congenital hypothyroidism). If there is no anatomical defect, reevaluation at age 3 to determine if lifetime replacement is needed. "
Thanks JBN, maybe I would encounter a congenital hypothyroid health teaching questions (health promotion category) and I was wondering if the infant patient would require a life time thryoid intake or not.
P.S. is there a way to delete my other clone thread, it seems I got a browser glitch a while ago resulting a double thread posts.
