i found this on the texas state board of nursing website. i would contact them to confirm but it appears that you may have to do some sort of refresher since it has been more than 4 years since you finished your nursing degree.

the web site is:

http://www.bne.state.tx.us/index.html

also you may want to check out a pdf on their site. i could not post it here. but go to the web site above and click on the tab called nursing education and then under guidelines. this answers your question. if you have trouble finding it pm me. there is a pdf entitled:

3.12 miscellaneous3.12.7.areeducation of candidates who fail to be licensed within four years of graduation

Hi,

I have a new user here since yesterday. Why don't you post your question under "Things to Ask Suzanne" coz she doesn't read every thread. Good luck to you.

Texas also requires that the CES be completed thru CGFNS. It is a credentials verification that is required before they will process your license application.

The four year limit that is listed there is for American trained nurses most of all. There are separate requirements for foreign trained nurses.

Were you actually licensed in your country before you came here? It also has more to do with you having a license in your home country than whether or not you have worked at all.
