Confused....

Hii everyone.I think im having one of those bad days. I don't know what to do about my major. I'm going to be a sophmore next year and ive taken most of the pre rqs for nursing, all i need is micro bio. I'm so confused because i like nursing and helping people soo much, but i also like the business area too. Im hoping to major in nursing, then minor in business. Could i use these majors to my advantage and combine them when i graduate?? Is there anybody out there that has the same interests as i do?.. I couldn't take a CNA course because of my summer class and work schedule. Does anyone know of any other way i could get a better idea of nursing? i I don't know if i can shadow someone.. i don't know how to go about that? I live in woburn MA. :o

I think majoring in nursing and minoring in business would be great. You might want to check out the nursing entrepreneurs forum here at allnurses to see how others have combined those two interests:

Could you contact the nursing department at your school to find out whether they know of shadowing opportunities or if there is an introductory course you can take prior to enrolling in the nursing program? I'm not sure where you're going to school, but I know that my state university offers an "Introduction to Nursing" class. Something like that might be helpful.

Good luck to you!

My advice is to speak with an advisor. I wanted to do a nursing major and psychology minor but was told to forget psychology -- there's no time for anything else in nursing school. Good luck.
