Confused on school to transfer too for BSN in Southern California

Published

Hello everyone! New to allnurses.com here and this is my first post... and why not have it about schooling.

I am 27 years old and am considering a career change into nursing. I come from a business background (I know it is on the other side of the spectrum)

I understand that nursing school is highly competitive (what isn't...). I transfered to cal poly pomona not too long ago but they do not have a nursing program. If I do decide to change careers I will need to a load of new classes (science). I will probably need to fulfill this at a community college.

So the question is... what schools can you transfer to that offer a BSN in southern cali?? I already have my AA so I took a lot of my prereqs. Are there any cal states that offer them? I can't find anything. I only found places like University of Phoenix or West Coast Univ...

anyone know of any others? Any schools they recommend>? At this point in my life I am just looking to get into a decent school and start on the RN path... I don't need to go to the BEST school anymore.

I live in the southern cali and I attend a community college. I applied to Cal State for the nursing program and I will know if I am accepted in July 2010 for the fall 2010. I have all of my prereqs done, so I am hoping and praying I will get in. Good luck to you on your road to nursing. It will work out for you if that is what you want to do. Do what is in your heart. That is best.

CA board of nursing has a list of approved nursing programs, including BSN programs. There are plenty of CSUs in SoCal that you can transfer to, after completing your prerequisite courses.
