Im thinking of going right to the air force this summer when i get out of high school but im not sure what to ask my recruiter and im hearing mixed information from alot of ppl including recruiters. Is it possipble to get my BSN in the air force without already having my rn or adn? Will i have to wait years before i start school in the air force? Is there any way i can do these nursing classes online? And how do i know if my recruiter is telling me info to help or just what i need to hear to sign?

Please any insight will help, Thanks:)

Thank you all for answering this post you helped me decide what im going to do now. I really appreciate all of the comments :yeah:

the best path towards being a commissioned officer nurse is to obtain your BSN - get on that trajectory and then worry about the military admission process as you will need the BSN to do so.... you can review the air force, navy, army website and in a few minutes have a general idea of current options - keep tabs on them over the years and perhaps this forum while you push forward to get that BSN, stay within physical standards, stay drug free and keep your record clean and all of that will prepare you for a future direct commission or to apply to one of the student programs junior or senior year depending on whether those options are still around in the future.. for nursing i personally wouldn't highly recommend ROTC as you can do a direct commission w/o it and nursing programs are demanding enough w/o juggling ROTC stuff in addition - especially when medical / nursing field is a bit different then all other branches within the service.
