Confused about lisence requirements

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So I am trying to get everything submitted and done fast, but I am really confused about the check list. I just graduated may 2015 BSN from New Jersey. I am a US citizen and resident. I don't know if I did the application right for BON but this is the checklist I have. The things in bold I do not understand. Do these things even apply to me? and if they don't why are they on my check list. I have been trying to call them but its always a long hold and they tell me to call back or leave a message.

Specializes in NICU.

I think you are filling out the application for non-US nurses.

Specializes in Critical Care, Capacity/Bed Management.

When applying for licensure in NJ you must submit a copy of your birth certificate to the BON with your application; immigration documentation will eventually be checked off as they manually process your application. It took a month for all my stuff to be checked and I was a January graduate.

Some things on that list do not apply to you and will eventually receive a "not applicable" next to it, give it a few weeks. NJ BON is notorious for being slow.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

There is one checklist used. It will change to N/A for items not relevant to your application.the completion letter comes from your school. The nclex-re won't change until you take & pass

thank you so much guys! that really clears it up for me.

I took my Nclex yesterday March 6 in NJ with my friend, she got 76 questions and I got 75, this morning she found out her license was active already mine says pending but in the checklist requirements for my license says Nclex RN completed. That means I passed??

Anyone knows about it? I can't wait until tomorrow!! Thanks
