news affecting ofw's despite the controversy generated by the "leakage" in nursing licensure examination this year, american confidence in the country's nursing educational system remains high, according to officials of an organization involved in nursing state boards in the united states.

faith fields and ruth ann terry, president and treasurer respectively of the national council of state boards of nursing (ncsbn), told president gloria macapagal-arroyo during their courtesy call on her in malacanang wednesday morning that nursing boards in all 50 american states remain confident of a continued partnership with the philippines which supplies 80 percent of nurses in the united states.

"we are still hopeful and confident of our partnership in terms of nursing education. we want to keep up the training and employment opportunities for your filipino nurses in the united states," they told the president.

president said...

"but we were able to identify those who were involved in the nursing exam leakage and we are bent on filing criminal charges,"she stressed.

part of upgrading the nursing educational system, she said, is by publishing a list of sub-standard schools which will be eventually ordered closed.

They have come out and stated facts, all of them. That the issue in the Philippines needs to be handles the same way that it is in the US when there is any issue at all with any type of licensing exam.

An entire retest must be done. Not certain areas, but the entire exam. And this is what is followed in the US and is a very well known fact.

Example: You get to the end of an exam, or close to it, power goes out in facility for more than a certain time, exam is rescheduled from the beginning for another day. Possible lakeage of answers, same thing occurs.

There were issues in Thailand with an entry exam at a university a few years, each university has its own exam. The entire exam was rewritten by all, as well.

Please use some common sense here. If you wish to work in the US, you need to follow their rules. If you wish to work in the Philippines, you can follow their rules. The choice is yours to make.

is this the same case if i passed but dont really want to register as a nurse? and i have no plans of retaking the exam, because i wont register anyway...

Just pray according to mam Kuan.. hehehe

Yikes! hehehe...P.U.S.H (Pray Until Something Happens)

just pray according to mam kuan.. hehehe

good idea... she should pray for the predicament of the bon members (where she belong)

Who cares about the local board anyway? No one can cheat on the US one... so guys don't worry about this PRC thing. Put it in the past and move forward!
