OK, I have a confession to make; I AM AFRAID!!!!!!! Afraid that when I get on the floor, I will not remember how to take care of my clients! I have been out of school for 5 and a half years now. I am taking a refresher course, but I am still afraid! Afraid that I will make a major mistake. My cousin just told me that a new grad on her floor gave a client a WHOLE BOTTLE OF NITRO!!! I know I won't make this mistake, but who's to say I won't make one similar to this?! What should I do?

Go to work when you get a job and do the best you can. Be alert to what you are doing and don't be afraid to ask questions or verify with other nurses. If you stay at home cowering, it will never get any better.
Thank you Caliotter! You always give people the best advice!:)
Thanks. Advice is easy to give, hard to put into action for ourselves.

Are you going to be place with a preceptor for a certain # of weeks? I just graduated in Dec. 09 and just recently got hired. I am being placed with a preceptor for up to 12 weeks. Which makes me feel good that I won't be alone. If you're not sure always ask for help. There's no such thing as a stupid questions especially if it will keep you out of trouble and keep your patients safe. Good luck!:)
