Concurrent enrollment: anatomy and physiology

Published

Hi there,

I know this question has probably been asked and answered before, but I searched and could not find it in previous threads. I would greatly appreciate a response or link. So my question is to those who have completed anatomy and physiology separately: Would you recommend against concurrent enrollment? Has anyone successfully done this? I realize it's not the best decision, but I would like to know how realistic it would be to do this and get A's? I'm only rushing to meet fall deadlines, otherwise I will be waiting until fall 2011 to apply. About me, I'm a 4.0 student and have ample study time.

Thank you.

I took anatomy and physio separately and I would recommend doing it that way. In physio- your instructor is going to assume you already know your anatomy so it can be confusing if your anatomy class is covering one system while your physio class is doing an entirely different system(a system that your anatomy class might not have even cover yet).

I wouldn't say its impossible but I wouldn't recommend taking them concurrently unless you already have a good background in bio, o-chem, and micro.

I asked extensively about this. Anatomy and chemistry professors and advisors said the courses were designed to be taken concurrently. I'm not sure if that is usually the case or if it is just how my school does it.

My classmates, (over several terms) who took them concurrently said there was no problem (other than both are time intensive).

I took them consecutively because it ended up working better in my schedule but I think all the advise I got was true. It would be okay.
