Hi, I hope everyone is fine and well. I am Filipino nurse (batch 2014) and like many others here were required to take certain subjects. It was a let down. I took LVN route while looking for schools. That part was the hardest. Almost every schools out there wanted me to repeat the whole program. Then, I decided to move in another state. I chose Oregon, took NCLEX and got a job offer.
The day I was about to moved, I received an offer email from Cal State University- San Bernardino. I took a risk and out of 200 plus applicants, I was given a spot in the program of 48 people.
I met people in the program who I have learned a lot from. That was the best summer for me. I met people from different countries. We shared the same struggles and helped one another.
Now, I am very happy to share that I finally have my RN license in California. My story is about determination and moving forward to achieve your goals. If I did it, you will surely will.
I am glad that 2015 graduates and onwards are not having this problem anymore. I am not a religious person as well but this journey made me closer to God. Never give up, get that RN!
Yes! That's what happened to me! They still wanted me to retake Med/Surg and OB. That's why I am also on the waitlist for CSU San Bernardino.
how long did you wait for the letter saying to retake classes? Did you try to appeal or something? I have a friend who got ATT with out taking classes even here cases were concurrent. I feel like CA BRN is unfair
