Concordia University Irvine - CUI - SUMMER 2014

Published

Did anyone apply for Concordia's ABSN program for Summer 2014 admission? Has anyone heard about an interview yet??

Specializes in PICU, CPN, CCRN.

Does anyone know how much religion plays into the whole curriculum at CUI? I am not very religious and don't want it forced upon me...I just want to be a nurse!! I have an interview march 11 though so I guess I can find out then

Hi AspiringNurse 99!

Congrats on the interview!

I know they make you take some theology courses the first term before beginning any actual nursing courses. I believe it is 3 classes that we would take this summer. But I heard that's about it for religion.

  1. Philosophy/Theology (6 units) – Students will be enrolled in these classes after acceptance and must be completed prior to enrolling in nursing core classes.
  2. Bioethics (3 units) – to be completed at CUI after acceptance

Welp, see you March 11th!

I got an interview on March 4 as well. Do you know what to expect?? I am very nervous.

I also got an interview for March 4th!

thanks for the response! I knew about the first two classes just wasn't sure about the rest of the program. I read the fall 2013 forum on here and someone mentioned after the first two classes there isn't anymore religion.

See eve you march 11!

Quick question.. does anyone know what attire we should be wearing for the interview? I am gonna assume business casual, meaning dress shirt/dress pant/blazer/heels?

Also, I never received a confirmation email after I replied to the initial email requesting for an interview. Did anyone get an automated email confirmation that the attached document said we were suppose to receive after replying???

Hello!

in the email about the interview it says that no further contact is needed after you send in the conformation email. I didn't get an email back either and was worried at first but then read that and figured that it was ok. I think business casual is appropriate. I just had an interview with another school last week and that was the attire. However that interview was only an hour, this interview is a few hours! So I thought maybe we would be doing walking to see the campus? But I'm not too sure, I'm just going to wear flats to be safe :p

good luck! Can't wait to meet some of you match 11 :)

Good luck to those interviewing tomorrow! ;)

Good luck to all who are interviewing next week! The interview day went great, don't stress! The staff was fantastic and everyone in my group was amazing. You will all be great!

Thanks erinnteee! Glad to hear it went well. Did they say when they would send out admission emails?

Thanks for the heads up! Getting excited and anxious :)

I believe that it was announced around the first week of April, possibly before or a little after. I'm sure that they might have a better idea of the exact date by your interview! :)
