Hi everyone! I noticed that there wasn't a thread yet for CUI's Fall 2021 ABSN program and wanted to start one! Is there anyone else applying?

I'm just glad they included a 15-minute break in the middle.  5 hours without a pee break would have been rough.

Does anyone know how many questions we might be getting and how long the essay is supposed to be?

Based on what someone posted on a previous thread, they said expect between 10-15 questions. They didn't provide any details on how long the essay should be.

Oh no I’m so nervous now!

Weird because last year people were posting that it was casual and fun and a girl I know who got accepted a few years ago said it was really fun and laid back and that they interviewed 120 people so there was a good chance of getting in. Now I see they interview 200, I wonder why the change.

If it’s OK to ask, was it unexpected like scenario based questions or just things off topic?

I'm not surprised to see that they are changing up the questions and making it more competitive... the nursing field is getting very competitive, now that many more people are trying to switch careers at this time.
My speculation is, if they recycle the same questions over and over for every cohort, it'll just make it that much easier for people to prepare, plus, you are behind the screen.
The point isn't to really prepare for the same questions that appear elsewhere, but it's to see how you can tackle and answer the questions in a genuine manner and not sound like a written essay when answering.
