  1. @Afo123 For sure! Go ahead and send me a direct message. I'll do my best to respond when I have some time in between work. ?
  2. @Afo123 Wishing you all the best on your application! I actually graduated from the program back in December and passed the NCLEX in January! I do think the program prepares you adequately to pass the NCLEX. (Disclaimer: my cohort was the last one that was able to take the older NCLEX - not the NGN one) For online classes, you usually meet once a week via zoom for 1.5 hours. The teachers typically do not lecture (read from a powerpoint) but rather go through important concepts and case studies. This style of teaching might be a difficult transition depending on how you studied in your first undergraduate degree. Quizzes and exams are usually proctored and you must scan your environment prior to taking exams. The questions are more critical thinking based so going through practice questions online (e.g. Quizlet) really helped! The practice questions help you "think like a nurse." Also, reading through the rationales of why an answer is correct is more important than actually knowing what the answer is. Overall, time management is key. Organize your assignments, what to study, and clinicals in a way that works best for you. I often used a to-do list and a planner to keep track of what I needed to get done. Having some self-care even if it's for a few hours or a day out of the week is also important. Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck ?
  3. @H3lloDubs Congratulations for getting accepted! I have only had one instance where clinicals extended to the semester break although it was for one day. For instance, we had 2 weeks off following our Spring semester and there was one day the week after finals that we had to attend clinicals. But so far with my Summer semester, none of our clinicals extend to the semester break. Hopefully this helps!
  4. I guess it depends on whether you have class that day or not. Typically classes are on Tuesdays and Fridays and since everything is online it makes it super convenient! A school day could be like a class from 8-9:30 AM and another class at 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, then studying in between classes and in the evening.
  5. Congratulations @Coop07! The program has been challenging but is expected for an ABSN program. Time management and self-discipline I believe are key to doing well in the program. The professors are overall great and supportive. You meet online once a week and go over case studies, so they aren't lecture based.
  6. Hi everyone! I wish you all the best of luck with applying to Marymount University's Online ABSN program! I am currently about to start my third semester so let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help!
  7. Hello @Ivan IV! I submitted my application on July 13 (with all required documents) and received the decision letter on July 21. I actually won't be attending GWU since I'll be attending another school instead. I think the Spring 2022 cohort recently had an "admitted day" zoom event.
  8. I'm going to Marymount University in Virginia since my husband got a job offer there. ?
  9. Hi everyone! I will be declining my offer into the ABSN program, so hopefully that opens up a slot for those on the waitlist! I wish everyone the best of luck on their nursing journeys.
  10. @Kbui I got accepted into the Fall 2021 cohort. I had a 4.0 prereq GPA and a 3.7 cumulative GPA. I also worked as a medical scribe for four years and a medical assistant for about 9 months. I would agree with what everyone said about the interviews. It seems like you need to dig deep on your experiences even if they are not healthcare related, and relate them to your reasons of becoming a nurse or how these experiences have shaped you into the person you are today. Everyone in the group interviews were amazing people so just be confident in yourself, your skills, your experiences, and your potential to become a nurse. I think that confidence translates to a passion in nursing. I wish you the best of luck!!
  11. @Roseryn I was in the same group as you during interviews! Congratulations for getting accepted!
  12. @Joanne Lee thank you for making the group! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!
  13. For those who haven't received an email yet, did you have any in-progress classes by the interview date?
  14. Congratulations to those who got accepted! I got accepted as well!!
  15. @cutepeachess oh awesome! Yay! Did you apply to their in-person or distance learning ABSN program?
