Concordia University Irvine ABSN Fall 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone! I couldn’t find a thread for the Concordia University Irvine ABSN Fall 2019 applicants therefore created this one.??‍⚕️

Hello!

I’m so glad I found this thread! I just received my completion email today. Does anyone have any idea what the interview process is like? Thanks!

Good luck y’all!

From what I can tell from other threads, it's a LONG day filled with group interviews and some sort of essay portion. No clue on what they ask you but I would assume it's pretty normal stuff. The best approach I can think is to simply be yourself and answer honestly on the spot rather than coming in with some sort of canned answer. Be confident in who you are & what sort of nurse you want to become and that should help guide your responses.

Thanks for the reply! That’s what I read from the other threads too. I also spoke briefly to one of the students who got accepted and mentioned you just have to answer the questions clearly. I’m guessing you have to try to make yourself standout since it’s a group interview. Sounds so nerve wracking!

Hello Everyone,

Hope I get to meet you guys soon. I applied for the Fall 2019 Semester as well. I dropped my application off on June 3rd the deadline and received my email confirmation on June 18th,"Stating that my application was complete, and will be forward to the nursing admission committee for consideration". I'll know by the first week if I'm selected for an interview. I'm so stressed. This is my first time applying at Concordia.

Does anyone how intense the program is? I know it's an accelerated nursing program, so probably pretty intense, but asking as in would I be able to work? Most programs say you can't work or shouldn't work, but usually they exaggerate. IF I get accepted I plan to move near the school since I'm a bit far from it... obviously I'd need to pay the bills lol

Hello,

All Nursing programs tell you not to work. It’s basically a full time job. You will have lecture and clinicals typically 7-7 And they can be during the day, night or weekends. You will have tons of careplans for you clinical portion and projects and exams etc for the theory portion. You might can squeeze in 20hrs a week but that is pushing it. But I do understand bills have to be paid. Hope this helps.

Ugh, the waiting is killing me. Please let me know when you guys starting receiving info. We should hear something next week.

Right there with you. It's pretty rough, but I'm sure the invites will roll in Monday or Tuesday. Hope we all get one ?

Based on last year's thread, we may be getting our emails sometime around the 2nd to 4th. So most likely the middle of next week.

Good luck Everyone!!! ?

Everyone check your emails! Just got an invitation for an interview on Saturday in the evening!! Can’t wait to meet everyone!!!!

Hi guys, check your emails. Just received an interview for Friday July 12! So nervous. Does anyone know how to prepare for this ?
