  1. Just received awesome news that I got accepted into a nursing program, but it is not my first choice. They need to hear back by 7/24, but my top choice doesn't release results until 8/1. I could potentially put down the deposit and then find out it was a waste 1 week later. Obviously I want to avoid throwing away money, but don't want to ruin my chances of getting into my top choice if I come off as too pushy by reaching out. Does it seem like I'm strong arming if I were to reach out to my top choice telling them that I prefer their program but have gotten into another one and I'm curious of my application status? When my wife was applying to PA programs, she was advised to disclose whether she got into other programs because it tends to boost your chances of getting into another one. The logic being that you're more desirable & it ups your chances. Not sure if that's the same with nursing or if it was specific to PAs. Cons come off as pushy and ruin chances at top choiceappear that I don't need their program since I already have a spot elsewhere and ruin chance with top choicewaste money on deposit at 2nd choice (assuming I don't call)Pros appear more desirable as a candidate because I'm already accepted by another program & boost chances at top choiceslightly early acceptance to top choicesave money on deposit to second choice programThis is the epitome of a first world problem, especially in the CA nursing space where spots are so tough to lock down. I'm torn on how to approach this delicate situation and would HATE to misstep when I'm so close to a final decision. Any advice would be appreciated.
  2. Finally got mine, been stressing all day with the rest of you. Looks like a rolling send for sure. NurseNette13 don't lose hope!
  3. Congrats to everyone who already got invites. To those of us who didn't yet, let's hope rnama is right & they haven't sent out all of them. I'm hoping it's a rolling email send and our invites are on the way. All the same, I'm sure it will work out for all of us in one way or another ❤️
  4. Right there with you. It's pretty rough, but I'm sure the invites will roll in Monday or Tuesday. Hope we all get one ?
  5. From what I can tell from other threads, it's a LONG day filled with group interviews and some sort of essay portion. No clue on what they ask you but I would assume it's pretty normal stuff. The best approach I can think is to simply be yourself and answer honestly on the spot rather than coming in with some sort of canned answer. Be confident in who you are & what sort of nurse you want to become and that should help guide your responses.
  6. The requirements page says you need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 which I assume includes the pre-reqs. As long as those bump you up, I assume you'll be fine.
  7. Yea just got my completion email too. Fingers crossed we get that interview invite.
  8. When did you submit your last document? The only one outstanding for me is the pre-req doc that I submitted on the 28th. Not sure what the hold up is. I know it's within the deadline but it's still stressful.
  9. Oooooo me gusta :) That's more promising, but still not a huge number.
  10. Not sure how many usually apply. I would imagine several hundred and I believe there are only ~40 spots available. In other words, pretty damn competitive.
  11. As long as they said it would suffice until the official score comes in you're fine. If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend getting that confirmation from Concordia in writing. That way, if anyone causes an issue you can refer back to that as proof.
  12. Phew, that makes me feel better. Idk if they send a confirmation of when it's fully processed. I've been talking with Melissa in the admissions office for the past couple weeks and she said they've got loads of documents to sort through so it takes a little while to process. Good to hear from the standpoint of making the deadline but not really jazzed about how many docs their dealing with. Hope the applicant pool isn't huge....
  13. How did you receive the card? Did you physically drop off your app & they gave you that? I already sent my stuff in last week and they’re still processing it, but I haven’t seen anything come through
  14. Hey there. Literally just submitted my letter of intent and finalized my application this morning. Now the stressing begins :(
