Concordia Irvine 2017

Published

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone out there is going to be applying to Concordia Irvine's fall program for 2017?

Unfortunately I missed the application deadline for the summer program but plan to apply in May for the fall start date. I'm pretty upset with myself for missing the last deadline but trying to focus on moving forward instead of ruminating on my failure.

I have all prerequisites completed for CUI's program save chemistry due to their 5-year statute of limitations. I am taking chemistry for nursing majors this semester, despite having two full years of chemistry (general and organic) from my BS with A's.

I was a little frustrated that I had to re-take the class because I completed all other science prerequisites in 2016 with a 4.0, but you have to do what you have to do right! Ultimately I understand why they have the requirement though. And I like chemistry anyway, it's just hard because it takes so much time away from being able to work and save money for next year where I will hopefully be in a program somewhere.

For those of you who might already be in a CUI ABSN program or have completed the ABSN program at CUI, I'd also like to hear from you about your experiences. I am not Lutheran but I did go to a Lutheran high school and actually know a number of people who went to college at CUI for other majors. Thanks!

I have a feeling that they were accepted too. It's weird that some of us got it and some didn't.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing :(

For those who were accepted: do you mind telling us your stats? I had limited healthcare experience so that probably hurt my application.

This makes me so nervous... I feel like you guys are already accepted and the computer sent the email too soon type... makes me feel like I didn't get in. But for those who got that email, please keep us updated!

I did not get an email either :( It's not fair on either side... the people who got the emails have their hopes up and those of us that did not get emails feel discouraged. I hope they send out the actual acceptance letters soon! We just need to keep our heads up and stay positive! Good luck everyone!

I think the Interview was an important factor. I got 3.9 in science preq, 3.5 bachelors, Currently CNA. But Like I said the interview is an important factor for them because one of the ladies said they want people that can fit in the program and not necessarily the grades or experience.

I wished the CUI IT department wouldn't have sent that email since it is very misleading and got people's hopes up for nothing :(

I completely feel the same way.... iv been like anxiously checking my email now ;( but let's stay positive and hopefully they will expedite the results due to this incident now.

I received an email from Henny about disregarding the email from the IT department, but didn't receive the email from IT about setting up an account. Did this happen to anyone else?

So that means they must have told IT department to stop sending them or what? Others did not get Henny's email but you did. Maybe she told them stop until next week.....

You might be an alternate. Henny probably has the accepted/alternates grouped up in an email. I know it's best to stay positive, but I already accepted the idea that I didn't get in.

Did anyone not receive either email? I am not going to make any assumptions at this point, I think it's still too early to have them decided on everyone!

I didn't receive any emails. Hopefully the physical letters arrive soon.

I didn't receive any emails either. I wish I wouldn't have checked this thread.. When I was denied the last time the letter came the day they said but was dated a week before if that helps.

Me too! I'm just going to continue on with my plan B for school, and not jump to conclusions. I do love the support from this group though and will be happy for those that do get in!
