I had to have surgery partway through this semester, about 3 weeks ago, while I am completing my A&P I lecture and lab prerequisities. I have already been accepted into an ABSN program for Fall of 2019, and my prereqs that have already been completed (stats, microbiology, nutrition) are all A's and one A-. I'm a bit concerned that my grades in A&P I lecture and lab this semester won't be as good because I missed a large amount of school and am doing a lot right now to make up missed work. My school's acceptance letter just says that I must "successfully complete any remaining prerequisite courses with performance consistent with your academic record." Should I call and tell them that I had surgery and my grades this semester might not be A's? I'm really worried about my acceptance being rescinded. At this time, I'm not in any danger of failing either of the courses.

I would cover all my bases and write an explanatory letter. Glad you're on the mend!

I'm in a very similar situation. I had surgery before school started, but there was a complication and I had to undergo another surgery about a month ago. I'm taking Microbiology, Psychology, Math, and Nutrition. I was accepted to an ADN program for Spring 2019. I just wrote an email to the head of the nursing department and explained my situation. I told her that I would not fail any of the classes, but because of the missed time my grades aren't up to my usual standard. She had me come in to meet with her and I brought a note from my doctor explaining the situation and the amount of school I had to miss. She was very understanding and told me that if I passed all of my classes, I would still be accepted. I'm proud to say that I have pulled all of my grades up to B's :)
