Hi there,
I'm about to take the computer test and TEAS. Can anybody give me any details on these? What operating system do you have to use and why do you need a scantron for the computer test?
Thanks. :wink2:

Hey I took the TEAS already and my advice: to really study! You're on a computer for 4 hours and you don't get a scantron, no calculator and you are timed for each section so practice taking those kinds of tests, it'll really help you. Ok well gl, when are you taking yours?
Hey, thanks for answering.
I wanted to take the test this week, but I keep procrastinating. I'm really scared of the science and reasoning sections. How many questions and how much time do you have per section?
It makes me so mad that they changed everything this year. I called the testing center the other day and they said that the computer test is on paper. what the heck? am I suppose to know commands by heart?
anyway, I'm nervous...I think I'll do the TEAS on Monday, and the computer test in a couple of weeks....
So, have you applied yet-what program? or are you still taking prerequisites? I'm now finishing NAS 162, and CHM101...
hey, np for the answer. i don't remember the exact numbers on each section- but if you bought the manual it will tell you exactly how many there will be. also, i don’t know if i mentioned it already-but all 4 sections are timed so if anything- this test is also testing how much you know the material well enough to score high in a given time. if you go to the mec campus at the testing center -they have helpful worksheets that tell you everything i’m telling you like how many questions, the times for each sections.
i hear what you’re telling me-i don’t even know if the test before (hesi) was any easier or better in some way- all i know is that the teas one was already given before and then the hesi then back to teas- and i think the only difference is the teas has a science section. i haven’t taken that computer competency test yet- however i’m not so sure it’s on paper? when i took my teas test i saw signs on the wall that said “computer competency” test- who knows.
i know- i get nervous before exams too- have you studied everything you needed to? it’s a lot of material if you ask me- it comes down to if you practice them enough or not and be aware of them. did you get that manual because i will say the practice tests were helpful for me.
i haven’t applied or sent in a checklist yet, i’m waiting to take my teas again and the computer test then i’ll get my stuff together. as for pre requisites- i've already taken all of them. i’m only taking classes that weren’t on the checklist- but part of the nursing curricula to get them out of the way. who are you taking nas162 with? i took 162 with dr. raji, she’s a great teacher! anyways, do you have an email, because i don’t regularly get on the allnurses website as often. good luck with everything, hope to hear from you soon!
Hey,
I got the book now from the library, and you were right, it tells you how many questions and such. I looked at it, and I think I can handle most of it. It seems that I'm having trouble with genetics and technical reasoning...I'll have to go over these parts again...
About the computer test: I did call them, and asked them twice to be sure that I heard it right. I was told it's on paper and scantron, you can choose to read the questions on the computer screen, but you are not doing anything else on the computer- like practical knowledge.
I'm taking NAS 162 online with Lucinda Miller- this is the first online class that I enjoy!!!...
So when do you plan on taking the TEAS again? Maybe we could do it the same day...
my email is [email protected]

Good luck to you, so much has changed in a few short months. I took my Hesi and computer competency in the fall and now they have changed to the Teas and a paper test for the computer competency test. I think that it is ridiculous that they are constantly changing things but thankful it hasn't affected me.
My guess is that the Hesi was too easy, lucky for me. But you may have an advantage with the CC Test because although I passed, it was confusing. You could only click the mouse twice anywhere on the screen before you didn't have another chance to answer the question. I hate computers, but I am very competent!
