I completed VA-HPMP 5 year monitoring program. If anyone has any questions or just need to talk or vent let me know. It is a tedious program and often times you can do everything right and things still pop up and you just gotta keep on the course and get to the end. Good luck and give a shout if you need any advice or info!!
Hello! I am a health professional from a different field, but this was the only place I could find discussing Virginia's HPMP. I hope it is OK that I ask a question here!
I am in the process of starting the program, but I do not know much about it. My case does involve substance use secondary to a certain phase of a mental illness, although there is no substance use when well. I am sure they will test for substances, but will they mandate anything on the mental health side? Are there any extra steps they may require me to take with regard to psychiatric treatment or therapy that are outside of regular appointments? I do have a history of treatment non-adherence that is documented in the report commissioned by the Department of Healthcare Professions (although I am much more adherent now). The report to my board was a mandated report from a psychiatric hospital admission, if that helps narrow down potential consequences.
Thank you for your time!
Always takes long during Holidays. Just like nurses at hospitals taking off work to be with family, same for lab workers, postal workers, electricians, and most other professions. Lab results from drug testing aren't just slow, so are CT Scans, X Ray Results, outpatient primary care routine labs on patients, etc. Very normal. Heck, the normal mail is slower.

It's closed immediately they do not and can't contact you. You no longer do anything or check in the app will not work

What's worse is the lab resulting it as positive on Christmas Eve but your CM being off until the day after Christmas and being unable to review it/change it to "prescription positive". Longest Christmas of my life.😅

Perhaps they debited your account to do the test but the person who enters the results hasn't done so yet. I stopped checking my results. I still worry but don't check.

The test sites vary on location. Dialysis places are full of nurses who have been given a monitoring agreement. That's not the only job you can get though.
