For a poster presentation for class I need to know which functional health patterns and nursing diagnoses appropriate to the health patterns that would be related to compartment syndrome. Any help would be great! Thank you!

What happens when compartment syndrome occurs? Walk me through what you know of compartment syndrome, why it's a problem and what is done to deal with the problem.

I had bilateral compartment syndrome in all four compartments in my legs a few years ago that required a bilateral fasciotomy to relieve pressure. This was definitely incredibly painful...but, getting intraoperative pictures from the nurse was very cool and I got to show my pathophys classmates the pictures when we went over this subject.
In any case, just remember that the fascia constricts the muscles too much cutting off blood supply to the extremity (in my case, my lower leg). Think about worst case scenario for the patient (amputation) then work up. :-p
