Company nurse, a wise move?

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hi, This is my first entry after 4 years here in allnurses. I would like to know your comment on my problem, I am currently employed as a Company Nurse here in the Philippines for almost 4 months now and actually my first job as a nurse. My position do a lot of HR and other clerical stuff like filing of documents, recording, encoding of names of all employees for health card, recruitment, etc. I seldomly use my position as a nurse, since it is a company. I sometimes give health advices, dispense otc medication (for pain, burn, etc), give first aid treatment and health screening on employees. My salary is only just on a minimum rate and doesn't give any over time pay if in case any emergency problem happen after my shift.

I wanted to seek for an employment outside my country using my position as Company Nurse but when I search the web, I got nothing in result as CN. Most of the position available is Hospital based nurse. Does that mean that other countries doesn't have a company nurse? Or do you know other countries that have one?

Specializes in ED/ICU/TELEMETRY/LTC.

Try looking for Occupational Nurse or Industrial Nurse.
