I just looked up my license and it says Valid Virginia Only (Compact Designation). What does that mean?

Virginia IS a compact state. Are you licensed there but have a permanent residence in a non-compact state?

I live in Maryland, another compact state, and when we had paper licenses, now just online, it just said COMPACT STATE.

I was in the military and moved home to La to help out for awhile i am moving back to VA at the end of the month and would like my designation back. I still have an address there and my car is still registered there dont know why it dosent say compact.
