Commute time from Alhambra to Cedars Sinai ( for night shift?

Published

What is the commute time from Alhambra to Cedars Sinai for night shift (7p-730a)? My husband works in Garden grove and we want to find a place in the middle to commute. Thanks!

It should be around 30 something miles for you. Since you are going opposite direction to work, I dont thiink it will be more than 45 minutes without traffic. However, I think give yourself around an hour bc going that way will always have traffic any time of day (unless bf 5:30 a.m. or after 8 p.m.). You will have traffic coming back from work also, it might take you an hour or a little bit more. Your husband's commute will be around the same time as yours too. Wow, he is working the opposite direction from yours but there is still traffic going up to Orange County.

I feel your pain. I used to live in Rosemead (next to Alhambra) and then moved to Rowland Heights (20 miles away from Alhambra -towards Garden Grove). WHen I did my clinicals at UCLA (i think cedars is about 5-10 minutes away from UCLA) , it would take me around 1 hour to UCLA if I leave my house at 5:30 a.m. But coming back home around 3:30 or 4 p.m., it will take me around 2-3 hours to get home. On days that is before the holidays, it will take me 3 1/2 hours or more to get home. Yeah, I keep telling myself I just went to Vegas (bc it's only 4 hours away).

Last week, I have to go to UCLA to do some fingerprinting, I left my house at 9 a.m. and got to UCLA at 11:30 a.m. So, the rule is either leave really early before 5:30 a.m. or really late, after 8 p.m. to go towards the westwood area.

Good luck in your search. California's traffic really stresses people out.

Thank you! I checked and the distance from Alhambra to Cedars is 21 miles. I'm thinking of leaving my house around 530 pm to be ready for work at 7 pm. My husband works 2x/week (Tues and Thurs) and will work 6am-430 pm so he will leave the house at 430 am. When he's back from work, his drive will be miserable though :-(

That should give you plenty of time. But in CA we dont really talk about the distance, we would always talk about the time. 21 miles should take you around an hour to get to cedars. I know for a fact on Friday and Sat nights, it will take me around 1 1/2 hours to get to Alhambra and I live around 20-25 miles away from ALhambra. On your first week on the job, on Friday and Sat night, leave a little bit earlier bc traffic is really bad. Rather be early than late, after that, you will know how to plan your time.

Your husband's work schedule is reall good actually, except when he gets back from work. Good luck.
