Thanks for the info - good to know about the buses. As for the train to the PATH option - do you know of any schools that offer the Accelerated BSN program?
Thanks for the info - I had wanted to check into NY schools because of the negative feedback I've gotten re: UMDNJ's Accelerated Program. That being said, I have applied there and am now just waiting to hear their determination. I will check into Rutgers at Newark, though - I hadn't spoken to them yet, so it's definitly worth some time.
Coming from that program, I can tell you that your education and preparation will become what you make it. UMDNJ has prepared me well in the theory and science department but not as well in the art of clinical practice. I think this is applicable to the majority of ABSN programs. It seems that the ADN and Diploma programs have their students more well prepared in clinical practice and are able to transition better from school to work.
In my opinion, the BIGGER goal of nursing school is to become well prepared for the NCLEX and pass. You can know everything and be a superb clinician but that can all mean nothing of you don't pass the NCLEX.

I live in Northern NJ and would like to enter into an Accelerated BSN program. (I already hold a Bachelors of Science in Long Term Care Administration.)
I'm not too familiar with where the schools are in NY to even begin my search. What schools offer a good quality program and would be an easy commute from NJ?
Thanks!
