Hi! I'm just new to this site but so far, I've been learning a lot about our profession especially for possible career development abroad. I am currently employed under the RNHEALS (Registered Nurses for Health Enhancement & Local Service) program of the Department of Health. My assignment is community-based where we follow up beneficiaries of the government's different programs. I plan and have dreams of working abroad, particularly in Abu Dhabi. But I am worried that my one year contract wouldn't be of use when I apply for a nurse position abroad. Does anyone know if community nursing experience is accepted for work in Abu Dhabi or anywhere abroad? Thank you so much! :)

Hi there alyalkholifi! As far as I know the experience can be considered but with very little chances of hiring. According to my mom (she used to be a community nurse in Manila) when she was applying for a job in UK she realized that it was really tough for her to get a job considering she got more than 10 years experience. But my mom found a way when someone told her that she should write communicable disease nurse instead of community nurse on all her resume and applications...
I hope this bit of story helps
By the way my mom has been working in Ireland as a rehab nurse for an Irish Gov't Hospital for more than years now and she's about to retire. She also became an Irish citizen. Altough the economy is not doing good in Ireland now a days :'(
