I can't believe this starts in justs over a week. Anyone else in for this one?

Has anyone found any legislation about immunizations other than the SCHIP?

I haven't found anything yet. Why does it seem like the readings don't match the discussion board assignments. Ugggh...thank goodness this is the last week!!!!!

It seems that the legislation of immunizations is at the state level, not that it says anything in the book about it.

wouldn't you know... after working on this thing for 3 hours, my computer just died. I had to reboot and lost everything I had done... URGGGH!!!

Anyone experiencing the effects of Sandy yet? Here in Ohio we have some rain and it's becoming more windy. I'm hoping we don't lose power. Many schools have announced two hour delays for the am. Hope everyone is safe. Last week of class!!!!!

I am in Baltimore, MD and we are just starting to get the worst of it. Be safe everyone!

I'm in Buffalo, so we are getting wind and rain. They say 40mph winds with gusts up to 60-65. Working tonight though. Just hoping we don't lose power since my hubby is home with the kids.

Hoping things go well for you and your community!!

I felt like I was reaching outside the box when I chose the Healthy People 2020 topic of Preparedness. But, I feel really good today that I chose it, as it's still an issue. I am praying for all affected by Sandy, and hope that everyone was prepared, although we can never prepare for the worst of a disaster...

Been watching the news nearly non-stop since yesterday. Lots of sad stories out there. Fires as well as floods. Preparedness is certainly a good topic for community health. You know the Red Cross is always prepared with supplies, food, and volunteers for situations such as this. I am sure this will be a poignant topic for you to address now.

It is definitely a poignant topic, but believe it or not, I used the Red Cross in my Community Assessment. When I chose the preparedness topic in week one, I felt somewhat of a rebel, but each week I have been able to find pertinent material. And maybe this is a sign, I might need to relook my career goals.

Hi, how is everyone doing? Hope everyone is ok. We only had wind and rain here in Ohio. There were a lot of tree limbs across our country roads this am but we were fortunate and never lost power. Preparedness is very important in our world today as someone else posted. One never knows what disaster is looming in our communities.

Checked My grades and TA has graded last weeks assignments. I did really well. No deductions on the APA paper. I caught something that could have been a big deduction. If you check the OU library for articles and click on the "citation" button, be careful... the last 3 articles had the First name, Last initial. Like " Sally, S. ( instead of Smith, S.) Thank goodness I caught it.

Working on the global health DB. I didn't notice at first it is due Thurs evening. Almost done with it. I will be glad when the DB is done. It gets tiresome.
