Community College or 4 year College ?!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I don't know if I should go to a community college or Cal State Long Beach. I didn't get into their pre-nursing (pre-reqs) program and would go in as undecided. So my final reach would be getting accepted into University of Washington Nursing Program.

2 Options:

Go to Community College take my classes and pre-reqs (could take 2-3 years). Become a CNA in the meantime and do everything I can including mission trips, volunteer, etc to make myself a more qualified nursing student.

OR

Go to a four year college for two years and take community classes as well. Ultimately apply to U of W, while doing everything I stated above as well.

WHICH ONE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? Money is no issue right now but I just don't know which one U of W would favor? Any Suggestions ?

Go to the community college to take first two years. No sense in wasting money whether you can afford it or not.

You plan to transfer anyway, so do the community college, work as a CNA, and make as many connections as you can.

I agree that the community college is probably the cheaper way to go. Before you go that route, since you plan to transfer eventually, you'll want to be sure that your credits/courses will transfer to U of W. Good luck!
