Hi, I am planning to attend nursing school through CCAC at the north campus. I currently have most of my pre reqs done right now. I am attending next to fall in 2025, as I just got accepted to the Medical assistant certificate/program to do in the mean time and a new job to get into the field. My biggest issue is dissections, I can't dissect an animal for anything and I know I have to do it an A&P but my professor is allowing me to sit out and do classwork instead. Does anyone know if you dissect animals or human cadaver labs in the CCAC nursing program? Or Just nursing programs in general.

I never dissected any humans or animals in nursing school. Only a pig kidney and heart in A&P.

If it is that huge of an issue for you I would contact the school directly to get reliable information. Are you gonna be able to handle nursing? Do you know what goes into placing a chest tube? Just make sure you don't spend tens of thousands of dollars on a degree and then it is not something you can't do. It is worth thinking about it. Not saying don't do it, but just be aware. We want people to be happy and successful in their careers.
