Who else is applying to part time FNP program in spring 2020 at Columbus State. I know I’m way early as we have to November 30 but it is never too early in my book
I just finished my BSN and want to continue to my MSN. I need part time program so this why I’m applying in spring and hoping I get in.
Agreed. My BSN is well above that but my overall is a little less. However it's not much lower but still. I remember when i was gonna apply to their BSN program before and they strictly went from 4.0 down until their program was filled. I was really hoping they didn't do that for the MSN program

I wouldn't have applied to the FNP if it had happened to me. My mistake was WGU for my BSN...didn't help my gpa at all
Well I've never applied. It was way before when i first considered nursing they told me this. But my gpa is about 3.0 but that's overall. My BSN was great but if they go strictly off overall idk that i would've applied either. I'm desperate to hear back. She told me we would find out by oct 1 via email. Right now i just show a advisor and a graduate orientation hold on my account.

I'm right there with you. WGU is pass/fail. Pass is equivalent to a 3.0, so my BSN from WGU didn't help my gpa.
latriciacsc, BSN, RN -At CSU, they start at the highest GPA and work their way down until the program is full, which normally includes around 3.5 GPA . I read somewhere that you have to have 3.0 or higher to be considered. I applied for Spring, but part of my documentation was delayed so I got bumped to the Fall 2020 program with a summer start date (if Im accepted).
Well idk how to feel about that. I don't have a 3.5 overall. It's a little less then that but my BSN was a Great and i got summa cum laude. So that will be disappointing if they only look at the overall. I'm just gonna pray i get it. They really shouldn't do it like that though. I just hope for the best. Hoping to hear something soon. If not i got accepted somewhere else so i will just go there . But i want CSU due to the cost
Leslie, did you apply anywhere else?

I applied at univ of south alabama and was denied.
Well i hope we all get it. I was planning to apply at UAB and South Alabama but don't want to unless i get denied here. I don't understand the point of needing resumes and references if they only go based off of GPA. That's terrible because just because your GPA Isn't a 4.0 doesn't mean you are t a great student. Smh. Let's hope we hear something soon. I plan to stay on here to stay update in any news. Hopefully we all can. But I've read before they usually have decisions within a week or so
The admissions rep specifically told me that my GPA was the determining factor. I totally agree...why make us submit resumes and goals if they're not going to utilize it. I even submitted an explanation of my GPA. But, it's good...there's other schools and other opportunities to obtain an NP degree. May have to pay more in the long run; but, I don't care. I'm totally expecting to be denied at CSU, as well. I've already started completing admission criteria for Capella's FlexPath. If I get denied, it'll be the last time; because, when I go for MSN in Education, I'll be able to bring up my GPA. It is what it is.

If they're just going to accept 3.5 and higher, they should say so on their page.
