Columbia University Masters Direct Entry (MDE) Summer 2025

Hey! I know the deadline passed 1 week ago but I wanted to start this thread for those who applied and want to discuss.

Im applying to three other schools if I don't get in. The applications are done for the most part but theyre due at the end of the month and I don't want to pay the fee until I know Columbias decision, theyre my #1. If I get in, I don't plan on applying to them. If I don't then I have no other choice. Congrats on the full ride!

Which ones are you interested in applying to? I hope you get into Columbia's, seems like you really want to go their program. Do you have a particular reason as to why?

Unfortunately this is my only hope I got denied by NYU's accelerated nursing program probably because I already have a bachelors but I'm hoping we either find out on Wednesday or the 18th with it being a very holiday heavy weekend I'm just worried about them slacking and pushing our decisions so they can get a break or something

NYU, Molloy, & SUNY downstate. Honestly, going to an ivy has been a dream of mine since I was in elementary school. Also, the proximity is just a bonus. I really fell in love with the school when I visited and love their study abroad program.

I am confident we will hear back this week, perhaps today. And there's plenty of programs you can apply to that are accelerated msns, there's many that are even more recognized than Columbia's mde. I wish you the best of luck with your academic pursuits!

I'm pretty sure NYU has a program for people with a bachelors already! & I totally forgot Monday is a holiday!! im gonna cryyy!! I just want to knowwwww ugh we probably won't know till next week Wednesday

I definitely see the appeal, but Ivy leagues have really lost that "prestige". The dissemination of information revolutionized education and as a result many of the "prestigious" institutions aren't seen as such, prestige should just be a bonus you look at! There's plenty of great programs and many that rank higher than Columbia's for an accelerated masters like UCLA and UVA. But location is also a massive factor, and it seems like you really want to stay/move to NY and I don't blame you, it seems so fun!! I truly hope you get into to Columbia and the other schools, so you have the option to go wherever you please

Thank you, that's true but not many in NY and to deal with transferring license is such a hassle depending on what state you got it from originally I rather not deal with that. Also it was a miracle I got my letter of recommendations the first time not sure I'd be able to do it again. I appreciate your optimism and congrats on your full ride!

Yeah that's the one I applied for and got denied 🙃 , yeah I'd like to know as well I have a lot of planning to do and kinda in limbo not knowing if I'm in or not

I applied to NYU for Spring 2025 start and was accepted but had to deny (no option to defer) due to work and travel reasons. So I am reapplying for Fall 2025 start. I prefer NYU, however, due to cost. Columbia sounded great due to having a MSN in 15 months instead of a BSN in 15 months but $130k cost is a little insane LOL. NYU cost is around $45k.

No it's not too late the deadline for priority is the 1st of March and the normal deadline is the 15th. And sure I can do that.
