So where are the potential 2008 Columbia ETPers at? I think a handful of regulars around here have Columbia on their list of apps, so heres a thread to get us through until notifications in Spring 2008. If you'd like, reply here and let us know which specialty you are trying for! I just submitted my app online for Acute Care...Good luck everyone! ;)

I've decided (since i've been driving myself and everyone I know crazy) that I will believe that I have gotten in to Columbia, rather than worrying that I didn't. Since we haven't gotten the letters, technically, we may have all gotten in, we just don't know it yet.

So congratulations FNP4Me end to everyone else on this thread!! I think we all got in, and I can't wait for us all to meet and start this crazy adventure together!!

(ps. . . i know this makes me sound like a crazy person, but thinking I haven't gotten in and/or checking the mail morning/noon/night makes me just as much of a crazy person)

Well the odds are with us...with historic acceptance rates of 70% and upwards. The only thing we can hold onto while we wait is the realization that we represented ourselves in the best way we can via application and that's that. ;)

Did anyone receive the following email?

Dear Applicant,

On Monday, February 4th, the Office of Admission mailed out your decision letter. Unfortunately, due to an error on our part, you received the correct decision with the incorrect personal information. We have just realized the error and would like to apologize for this inconvenience.

This incident occurred to a handful of applicants, but we want you to be aware that we are making every effort to correct this immediately. We will make the corrections in our system and mail you the correct letter by the end of today. You should receive your corrected letter in a couple days. Due to this error, we are lifting our policy to discuss your decision over the phone. If you wish to confirm your decision, please do not hesitate to call me at 212-305-1023, 9am-5pm eastern time.

Once again, we wish to apologize for any inconvenience and confusion this may have cost you. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Sounds like they sent your decision letter, and it has the correct acceptance/rejection but the wrong name on the letter. Between the last minute application deadline extension, late mailing, and this the admissions office seems pretty sloppy this year. I would just call and get my decision over the phone. Good luck!

Ahh okay. I'm debating whether or not I should wait until I get home at 4 tonight to see if its there, or just go ahead and call them :bugeyes:
