Easy questions and I do believe the camera is recording. It's not a lot of time to create a masterful essay so I just really winged it, basic AF. Just make sure your sentences are very concise and essay is structured.

When I first walked into the interview, I was welcomed and thanked for being there, so I proceeded to shake the hands of the interview panel. They looked at me very confused as to why I would be shaking their hands and proceeded to say that they would not be shaking hands during the interview but that I was welcome to do air handshakes. I figured it was probably a safety thing. Then, as I was answering questions, one of the interviewers was falling asleep. It wasn't very discreet—they were even bobbing their head back and forth. I had just flown in for the interview and had to leave that same day. I just found it very disrespectful, as we all put in hard work and our soul into getting into school, and this is how they treat someone interviewing. It's very sad and disappointing because the feedback from current students was great, but unfortunately, the interview unfolded the way it did. Congrats on those that got in and for those that didn't get in keep up the work!! It will pay off!! 

NGL last year I got a couple of yawns and was offended the interviewer in the back was on his phone and looked disinterested the whole time. When I spoke to others about my experience they reminded me that they were probably interviewing people the whole day and hear a lot of the same things over and over again. I also interviewed in the afternoon both times so they'd be running on much less fuel by that time. I arrived at 1pm I think, didn't interview until 5p and there were still 3 left after me. I was waitlisted last year but felt so put off I wasn't going to reapply but I did anyway and got in this year. When I walked up to the room this year I prepared for the worst, but they welcomed me back and remembered me. In my subsequent mock interviews, I was told to keep an eye out for negative signs in interviews bc it means that you're not capturing their attention, you're rambling too much, and to move on. After my experience last year I was prepared to be on the defense and practiced how I would pivot or end my answer based on their reaction. 

 

Not to minimize your experience, but I just wanted to add a different perspective and my experience. Interviewing for these programs have been brutal and taken a toll on my self esteem.

I hope you all get in somewhere, and don't stop trying
