  1. Hi! FANAS is a nonprofit nurse anesthesiology organization with a vision to advance nurse anesthesia practice, cultivate a network of mentorship, and positively impact global health disparity. The AANA Congress, our profession's biggest conference, is being held in Nashville next week. We are also hosting a free event screening of the Nurse Unseen documentary at Vanderbilt University 8/9. There will be hot catering, raffles for prospective SRNAs, SRNAs, and CRNAsl; and all-inclusive vacation packages up for grabs. It will also be an excellent opportunity to meet and network with many prominent figures in the profession. Despite the organization's name, we welcome everyone and have many members from backgrounds around the world. This event in particular is to help raise awareness and funds for our medical mission to provide free surgeries, healthcare, and community health training to underserved families in the Philippines. Tickets are limited, the link to register is here: Event Registration
  2. Hi is there a fb group for accepted students? I'd love to join and meet all of you!
  3. NGL last year I got a couple of yawns and was offended the interviewer in the back was on his phone and looked disinterested the whole time. When I spoke to others about my experience they reminded me that they were probably interviewing people the whole day and hear a lot of the same things over and over again. I also interviewed in the afternoon both times so they'd be running on much less fuel by that time. I arrived at 1pm I think, didn't interview until 5p and there were still 3 left after me. I was waitlisted last year but felt so put off I wasn't going to reapply but I did anyway and got in this year. When I walked up to the room this year I prepared for the worst, but they welcomed me back and remembered me. In my subsequent mock interviews, I was told to keep an eye out for negative signs in interviews bc it means that you're not capturing their attention, you're rambling too much, and to move on. After my experience last year I was prepared to be on the defense and practiced how I would pivot or end my answer based on their reaction. Not to minimize your experience, but I just wanted to add a different perspective and my experience. Interviewing for these programs have been brutal and taken a toll on my self esteem. I hope you all get in somewhere, and don't stop trying
  4. Easy questions and I do believe the camera is recording. It's not a lot of time to create a masterful essay so I just really winged it, basic AF. Just make sure your sentences are very concise and essay is structured.
  5. From what I've heard yes. But there is also a wait list and I know someone that was taken off the wait-list last year in Dec
  6. She's not going alphabetic order, she said she's halfway through the list
  7. Heads up calls are coming through today. I just got mine. Good luck everyone
  8. For those who were accepted, can you provide the deadline date for deposits?
  9. Sorry to hear that, I hope you get into another school. Did you interview with John's Hopkins at least?
  10. Not a lot of info on this school's interview style. Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on that
