Columbia MSN traditional

Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get some information on admissions for the adult np or fnp programs at Columbia. Most of the posts I could search were for the accelerated/etp program and not just the MSN for people who already have their BSN.

I graduated with my BSN and a 3.55 gpa - cum laude. I haven't taken the gre yet. I'm coming up on 6 months of experience on a med-surg floor and will probably have around 1 year by the time I apply or 1.5 by the time I would possibly start (if i hopefully get in that is...:thankya:).

Does anyone have any tips or any information on the stats you need to be accepted? I'm really interested in this program and would love to have the opportunity to attend.

Looking forward to hearing any tips or advice or any suggestions at all about the program, on myself as an applicant - or anything that I can do to make myself better!

Thank you everyone so much!

I'm in the same boat StudentfromNJ. I'm also a student from NJ! I'm waiting to hear from UPenn, another Ivy League school, so hopefully what I tell you will work for us both. Your GPA sounds good. I would spruce up your resume to highlight ANY leadership, volunteer, or interesting work that you do. Any certifications or awards? Did you tutor, work with sports or something like that? Write an awesome essay and mentally reheorifice how you'd answer interview questions (strengths, weaknesses, etc). I have already decided that I'm going to get accepted. Maybe watch the Secret and get your mind primed for success. Good luck to us both!
