Columbia University MSN Grad Program
Thank you for getting back socialjustice. I'm surprised there are so many ETP students. Which specialty are you doing?

Columbia University MSN Grad Program
that is awesome. congrats to all you guys! i think Columbia is pretty much my dream school. Do you mind if I ask you what you think of my chances of having a shot at being accepted? I have a 3.55 GPA from my BSN and by the time I'd apply and start probably about 2+ years of experience on a med surg floor. I haven't taken my gre yet but of course hope to do as good as you. Which track are you guys doing? Any advice? Sorry if this is a lot..but just looking for any tips. Congrats once again! I would be so excited! Good luck to you all!

Columbia MSN traditional
Hello everyone, I was hoping to get some information on admissions for the adult np or fnp programs at Columbia. Most of the posts I could search were for the accelerated/etp program and not just the MSN for people who already have their BSN. I graduated with my BSN and a 3.55 gpa - cum laude. I haven't taken the gre yet. I'm coming up on 6 months of experience on a med-surg floor and will probably have around 1 year by the time I apply or 1.5 by the time I would possibly start (if i hopefully get in that is...:thankya:). Does anyone have any tips or any information on the stats you need to be accepted? I'm really interested in this program and would love to have the opportunity to attend. Looking forward to hearing any tips or advice or any suggestions at all about the program, on myself as an applicant - or anything that I can do to make myself better! Thank you everyone so much!

Any new grads starting at Johns Hopkins Hospital in July?
sorry for pulling an old thread back up but i just had a question for all of you who were accepted to the program.. how exactly did you apply? i'm graduating this may from my program and just wanted to know if you applied before you graduated or after you get your license already? i wasn't able to find anything specific on the website about where to apply..just that all new grads that are hired are put into the SPRING program. I see some positions for nurse clinician's but none that are on my unit of interest..any help guys? and congrats to all of you who were able to get a position in this program even though this was quite a few months ago! any help would be appreciated!! thanks everyone

Uncles/Aunts just don't understand...
Hey fellas, So I just came back from this family party and I met some people I haven't seen in a long time. When they asked what I was taking in college, I told them that I'm a junior in my nursing program..and man did they sure judge me. The entire night I could hear it in peoples tones that they were "disappointed" thinking I took an "easy way out" vs all of the doctors and pre-meds in my family. I don't know..I guess I can't really explain the feelings i'm having right now through an online post. Just sucks being compared to the others in your family when you're actually doing really well in school. Anyone else ever feel like this? Words of encouragement? Thanks

Introductions
I'm currently only a freshman in a BSN program..but I came across a question.. How do NP's introduce themselves to patients? For example, a nurse introduces themselves as Nurse Blah Blah and MD's introduce themselves as Dr. Blah Bah. How do NP's do it?

Bloomfield College
I was accepted there in the fall of 07 but I chose not to go there because it's such a small school.
