Has anyone applied to the traditional MSN or DNP program for 2016?
I'm sure it will be okay. If you have your license already - I'd start applying to positions now, only because sometimes it can take several weeks to months for call backs at certain places, also depends what type of experience you have. Just put yourself out there as much as you can and see if you get any bites or feedback.
Just a heads up NYP hospital group is having a interview event on 3/22. I believe that one is more geared towards RNs with experience but they also have a new grad interviewing event later. I applied to attend the event online yesterday and got a phone interview today for NYP Cornell. You should check it out even before you have your NY state nursing license.
Today was the last day to make decision, maybe they were waiting for that to send official financial aid letters? I am only going by what other students have experienced through the program.. I haven't contacted admissions directly. The health service info was sent in the welcome e-mail, it's a bunch of stuff to make sure your titers and vaccinations are up to date and a clean bill of health from your primary care doc.
Still havent gotten a financial aid package/offer from them. But I logged into NetPartner today and saw the prompt to complete the direct loan entrance counseling and the master promissory note, which I didnt think to do before. So maybe thats why I have yet to receive a financial aid package......

If I move up to NYC, I'm going to need to work either part time or PRN. A lot of the jobs say they require 1 year of RN work experience.....but by the time I move there, I'll only have 7 months, rather than 1 year. in NYC, does a difference of 5 months matter much?
