We lead an early mobilization program and evidence shows that it leads to shorter hospital stays and decreases mortality. We mobilize many of our CRRT patients by either doing bedside exercises and sitting them in a chair. If they need to ambulated, return the blood and temporarily discontinue treatment for a walk with PT. Does it seem like an inconvenience? Sure it does, but if they are hemodynamically stable, do it - they benefit from moving. Our ECMO pts ambulate as well, it used to be a circus moving these patients but now they have portable treadmills for the pts to walk at the bedside.

Today was the last day to make decision, maybe they were waiting for that to send official financial aid letters? I am only going by what other students have experienced through the program.. I haven't contacted admissions directly. The health service info was sent in the welcome e-mail, it's a bunch of stuff to make sure your titers and vaccinations are up to date and a clean bill of health from your primary care doc.

I haven't heard anything from the school yet - but heard through the grapevine that packages are offered close to program start. Scary but they say it usually works out in the end. I'm assuming sometime in May? Still waiting on UNI ID stuff so I can turn in the health assessment forms

It'll just come in the mail, I never got updated on statuses - that's just too easy and convenient. From 0-10 NY likes to keep the stress level at about 17

I'm sure it will be okay. If you have your license already - I'd start applying to positions now, only because sometimes it can take several weeks to months for call backs at certain places, also depends what type of experience you have. Just put yourself out there as much as you can and see if you get any bites or feedback.

On my agenda for today, it's a good thing I filed my taxes early! Also, if you do plan on going to Columbia - get on your license stuff now, it did take a few months for mine to process.

It's a seamless program. From the curriculum I see that's posted for psych looks like it's actually 95 credits.

They actually updated their curriculum plans on the nursing website for the current year.

I'm guessing somewhere around 70k+ not including materials or other fees.. Guess we'll find out soon. They had sample curriculums - I know mine is around 47 credits

I live downtown so I'm not too sure but from what I've heard it's relatively safe. The school is right next to the hospital, so there are a lot of students, residents and nurses that live in the area. Just don't venture too far east of Broadway as it can be sketchy.

I already work and live in the city, so no big moves for me. If anyone has questions I'd be happy to share anything about the city

I received the same e-mail as well. I applied for the AG-ACNP. I believe the decisions come out in March - hopefully earlier in the month.

I thought so as well. Let's hope it's soon, now that the ETP applicants are done.
